Resilient Colorado’s trauma-informed trainings are in high demand and not available elsewhere. Our holistic approach to community wellness extends to every sector and community-based trainings. We have provided trainings for professional development, medical professionals, childcare providers, colleges, opioid treatment facilities, public health, tribal and government, family and peer support groups, and more.
We support organizations working with priority populations, including HCBS providers, people with disabilities, people experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, LGBTQ+, immigrant, justice-involved, SUD, and suicide prevention. Our work extends across the continuum of care in upstream prevention and downstream treatment and recovery.
“Had I known this when I started my nonprofit work my whole life would have been different. My family would have been different.”

Across the country, more businesses are adopting a trauma-informed approach. This presentation will introduce trauma-informed concepts and best practices that attendees can immediately apply in their work to foster better outcomes and promote resilience. Individuals who are triggered and re-traumatized have difficulty accessing healing resources. A trauma sensitive approach also helps organizations meet their performance goals, provides better outcomes, and enhances employee engagement and retention.
Unlike trauma specific clinical services, trauma-informed care can be practiced by every member of the community. Key principles of trauma-informed care include: creating safety, building trust, providing empowerment and choices, and reducing re-traumatization. Each of us has an important role to play in creating safe communities where trusting relationships flourish and people feel empowered to collaborate to support the resilience of everyone.
Through this presentation, participants will gain an understanding of what trauma is, what causes it, and what can be done to prevent it and/or reverse its effects through an understanding of a trauma-informed approach. Participants will learn the importance of self-care and resilience and leave with some practical and easily applicable tools to use at home, at school, or at work.

Workforce Wellbeing
-
Organizations are increasingly recognizing the impact of overwhelming stress and secondary trauma on their workforce. It shows up in measures of productivity, burnout, job satisfaction, employee engagement, and retention. Rather than expect staff to manage their stress as an added “to do” outside of the workday, the most successful organizations are incorporating intentional support for workforce well-being into their culture. Not only does this benefit individual staff members, it makes the entire organization more resilient.

Doty is a wonderful voice in the global dialogue of cultural shift towards more empathetic, regulated, and resilient communities."

Global and national events over the last few years have highlighted inequities that have existed for generations. This training brings a trauma-informed approach to equity and cultural humility. We will explore the impact of micro-aggressions (insidious trauma) and implicit bias. We will also consider the interconnected relationship between trauma, equity, and resilience.

Join us for an engaging training where we will take a look at interpersonal conflict through a trauma-informed lens. So many times, instead of responding to the current situation, we re-enact old conflicts in predictable behavior patterns described as “the drama triangle” that are rooted in the neurobiological impacts of our past. Once we understand this phenomenon, we can intentionally make different, more empowering choices to stop the drama, help resolve conflicts, and improve our relationships.
